MRS. M. LAUTRUP DIES AT KENNARD

HAD BEEN SERIOUSLY ILL ONLY TWO DAYS; WAS BORN IN DENMARK

Mrs. Mary Lautrup, resident of Kennard for the past thirty years, died at the hospital there Friday, June 30, after being seriously ill only two days. She had not been in the best of health for the past month but not until the Wednesday preceding her death did her condition become dangerous. She was 51 years old.

Mrs. Lautrup was born in Denmark, coming to Harlan, Iowa, with her parents when she was 16 months old. She lived there until after her marriage to C. E. Lautrup, and came to Kennard about 1903.

Surviving are ten children, four sons and six daughters, another son having died in infancy. The survivors are Howard, of Irwin, Iowa; Harold, Henry and Edward of Kennard; Mrs. Luella Hansen, Iowa; Mrs. Viola Vruegdenhil, Blair; Leona, Ella, Bertha and Dorothy, of Kennard. Also surviving are five grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Hansen of Harlarn, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Sunday at the Kennard Methodist church, with Rev. E. P. Booher officiating: Messrs. Frank Byers, Harry Noel, Leonard Miller and Lester Kronberg sang a number of hymns that were favorites of Mrs. Lautrup. Interment was in the Kennard cemetery.

Mary Christensen Lautrup was born in Denmark and came to Harlan, Iowa, when she was 16 months old. She resided at Harlan until after her marriage to Chris Ever Lautrup.

She was survived by four sons and six daughters, one daughter (Francis) dying in infancy. The sons were Howard of Irwin, Iowa; Harold, Henry and Edward of Kennard, Nebraska; the daughters were Mrs. Luella Hansen, Irwin, Iowa; Mrs. Neil (Viola) Vreugendhil of Blair, Nebraska; Leona, Ella, Bertha and Dorothy at home. Five grandchildren also survived her.
