Albert Petersen Dies At Home on May 3

Albert E. Petersen passed away at his home on May 3, 1976.

The son of John and Ellen Petersen he was born on June 11, 1898 on a farm near Irvington. He had lived in the Irvington vicinity, nearly all of his life. For a few years he lived on a farm near Ft. Calhoun.

He passed away at his home very suddenly on Monday forenoon May 3, at the age of 77 years, 10 months and 22 days.

His occupation was farming and although he retired a few years ago, he always liked to be active helping around the farm.

Albert was married to Rose Jacobsen on June 22, 1921. They celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary in June ’71.

His is survived by his wife, Rose, and three children. Melvin of Sonoma, California, Gene (Bud) and daughter-in-law Joyce Petersen, Phyllis Finney and son-in-law Jack Finney, five grandchildren, Kathy and Kristy Petersen, Diane, Mike and Susan Finney, also two brothers, Art of Omaha and Allen of Overland Park, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters and four brothers.

Funeral services were at Kremers Mortuary in Omaha.

George Tormohlen of Northwest Hills, United Church of Christ officiated. Organist was Josie Weaver. Soloist was Sam Lovejoy who sang “In the Garden” and How Great Thou Art.”

Pallbearers were Glenn Petersen, Don Petersen, Lee Petersen, Calvin Petersen, Lawrence Jacobsen and Glenn Hazard.

Interment was at Mr. Hope Cemetery.
