Anna G. Petersen Died Sunday at Blair Hospital

Mrs. Anna G. Petersen, a resident of Washington County for 89 years, died last Sunday at the Blair Memorial Hospital. She had been a resident of the Good Shepherd Home in recent months.

Mrs. Petersen was the widow of the late Henry Petersen who died a number of years ago. She was born at the Village of Washington, Nebraska, in the southern part of Washington County on October 30, 1885. She grew up in that area and after her marriage she and her husband engaged in farming.

After her husband’s death, she moved to Blair to make her home with her sister, Emma, in a home on East Jackson Street. Emma died last October and after that Mrs. Petersen moved to the Good Shepherd Home. A sister, Christina, also preceded her in death.

Mr. and Mrs. Petersen had no children.

Funeral services were held at the Bendorf Funeral Home Wednesday afternoon. The Rev. Sanford Sorgen of the First Lutheran Church conducted the service. Burial was made in the Blair Cemetery under the direction of the Bendorf Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Elmer, Norman, Irvin and Orval Petersen, Marius Hansen and Viggo Berthelsen.
