Bertha Petersen, 89

A memorial service for Bertha Petersen, 89, of Exira, Iowa, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 27, 1988, at Exira Lutheran Church.

Petersen, mother of Joan Krogh of Blair, was buried January 14, but the memorial service could not be conducted until Mrs. Krogh returned from Israel.

Bertha was born September 13, 1898, to Martin and Serena Jessen in Exira.

February 18, 1920, she married Elvin Petersen in Exira. She was a homemaker, and a member of Exira Lutheran Church.

Survivors include son Orville Petersen of Red Bluff, California; daughters Joan Krogh of Blair, Lois Andersen of San Jose, California, and the late Iola Young of Oakland, Iowa, who died last summer in a car accident; 14 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
