Donald “Bud” Petersen, 82

Blair native Donald Petersen, 82, of Aurora Colo., died May 6, 2005, in Aurora.

Memorial services were held May 12 at the Newcomer Funeral Home and Chapel in Aurora. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. June 22 at the Blair Cemetery.

Donald “Bud” Petersen was born Aug. 6, 1922, in Blair to Chris and Gertrude Petersen. He graduated from Blair High School, and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

In 1942, he married Viola Juul. In 1953, the family moved to Denver, Colo. Mr. Petersen owned Petersen Machine Tools Inc. for more than 35 years. He also held several patents at the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife, Viola; daughter, Susan Sparks; son and daughter-in-law, Burke and Barbara Petersen; four grandchildren; and a sister, Rosemary Lewis of Florida.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Ladonna Frey, and his brother, Chris Jr.
