Elsie Petersen, 79

Elsie Petersen, 79, of Fremont, died Sept. 28, 2001, at the Merrick Manor in Fremont.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 2001, at the Presbyterian Church in Fremont. The Rev, Stephen Brownlee will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 3, at Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont, with the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Elizabeth M. “Elsie” Petersen was born Sept, 21, 1922, at Kennard to John and Margretha (Hansen) Wrich. She was raised in the Kennard and Washington County areas.

On Nov, 24, 1940, she married Lawrence Petersen in Bennington. The couple farmed south of Mead, then near Malmo, and then moved to a farm north of Mead.

Mrs. Petersen was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Fremont. She was active with her husband in various activities, including the Roadsters II, and in bowling, which she continued, following his death in 1989.

Mrs. Petersen is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Jacklynn Petersen of Mead, two grandchildren, a brother, Lawrence Wrich of Ashland, and a sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Lyle Hindley of Herman.

Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont is in charge of arrangements.
