Lila F. Jones, 90, of Oakland, died Monday, Dec. 2,2013, at Hospice House in Omaha.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, December 6 at Evangelical Free Church in Oakland. Interment will be in the Herman Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services. A luncheon will follow services.

Lila Faye Jones was born Oct. 31, 1923, in Walthill, to George L. and Ethel M. (Kearnes) Sparks. She was one of 13 children. She grew up in the Walthill and Macy areas.

She married Frank Briggs after high school. While he served in the U.S. Army, she lived with her parents.

In 1973, she married Robert Jones of Oakland.

She especially loved traveling with Mr. Jones. She enjoyed cooking for her family, indoor gardening and reading. She was an active member of her church.

She is survived by her children, Connie Guy of Omaha, Frank (Barbara) Briggs of Mondamin, Iowa, George (Linda) Briggs of Herman, Bill (Jeanie) Briggs of Craig, Ron Briggs of Tekamah, Katherine Briggs McBride of Omaha and Debra (Dwayne) Gray of Blair; stepchildren: Dale (Linda) Jones of Oakland and Dennis (Chris) Jones of Oakland; 23 grandchildren; 42 great- grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; sisters Rosemary McManaman of Dallas, Texas, and Donna Sutton of Lincoln; and brother Raymond Sparks of Denver, Colo.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair is in charge of arrangements.
