Geraldine "Gerri" S. Storjohn, 87

Geraldine "Gerri" S. Storjohn, 87, of Fremont, formerly of Omaha, died Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, in Fremont.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home in Fort Calhoun. Inurnment will be private.

Geraldine "Gerri" S. Schneider was born: Dec. 21, 1925, in Blair to Peter C. and Clara Mary (Benck) Schneider.

She grew up in the Wranch School District and attended school there.

She lived in Fremont before she was married, and also worked at Crowell Home in Blair before she was married.

On Aug. 26, 1957, she married Gerald Storjohn.

They lived for a brief time in Fremont. Then she moved to Omaha in 1957. In 2012, she moved to AJ Merrick Manor in Fremont where she lived until her death.

She loved to listen to polka music, play cards and eat vanilla ice cream. She liked the dances at Peony Park in Omaha in the 1940s and the dances at Oak Ballroom in Schuyler. She also loved the good times at her parents' house in Fort Calhoun.

She was a second mother to the many children she cared for as their babysitter. She continued babysitting well into her seventies.

She was known at holiday times for her apple raisin dressing.

She is survived by her daughters, Marlene Ellen of Omaha and Mary (Duane) Gage of Fort Calhoun; sisters: Clara Ann (Larry) Meister of Schuyler, Wilma Jean (David) Geary of Loma, Colo., and Marilyn (Ray) Clapper of Ames; four grandchildren: Justin Mosher of Omaha, Noah (Amy) Mosher of Gretna, Sean (Jen) Mosher of Gretna and Christopher Gage of Fort Calhoun; six great-grandchildren: Tristan and Raven Mosher (mother Stefanie) of Omaha, Brynlee and Westin Mosher and Aiden and Lane Mosher, all of Gretna.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; brothers: Alvin, Stanley, William "Bill" and Robert Schneider.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
