Judith M. Trimpe, 66

Judith M. Trimpe, 66, died Sunday, Sept. 26, 2010, at her home near Dunlap, Iowa.

Services were Thursday, Sept. 30, at St. John Lutheran Church in Dunlap. Interment was at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Dunlap.

Judith "Judy" Maydell Brasel was born March 3, 1944, in Dow City, Iowa, to Earl R. "Pete" and Thelma B. (Walworth) Brasel. She grew up in Dow City and moved to Dunlap with her family during high school.

After high school, she worked at Mutual of Omaha and attended trade school for programming and key punch. She worked at the home office of Safeway Foods in Omaha until they moved their home office, then worked for Acoma Turkey Plant in Carroll, Iowa.

On Aug. 12, 1967, she married Louie William Trimpe at St. John Lutheran Church in Dunlap. The couple lived on the farm for the rest of her life.

In August 1976, the couple adopted their only son, Todd Michael. After raising their son, Mrs. Trimpe returned to work at Perfection Form in Logan, Iowa, No Frills Supermarket and Wal-Mart, both in Denison, Iowa. Her last job was at Linda's Upholstery in Dunlap.

Mrs. Trimpe enjoyed reading the Bible; her favorite verse was Psalm 121 and favorite reading was "Footprints in the Sand." She enjoyed bald eagle collectibles and fishing. She especially enjoyed the visit arranged by hospice for a live bald eagle to be brought to her to view. She was always very happy to have her grandsons visit her.

She is survived by her husband, Louie; son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Sarah Trimpe of Blair; two grandsons; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Betty Jane Wingrove of Dunlap, and Darla Rae and Dennis Andersen of Huntsville, Ala.; many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Fouts Funeral Home in Dunlap was in charge of arrangements.
