Richard T. Reyzlik, 88

Richard T. Reyzlik, 88, of Herman, died Monday, Sept. 27, 2010, at the Golden Living Center in Tekamah following a brief illness.

A memorial gathering was held Wednesday, Sept. 29, at Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah. A Masonic service was also held Wednesday, with the Herman Landmark Masonic Lodge No. 222 officiating. A private family burial was held at the Tekamah Cemetery.

Richard Theadore Reyzlik was born March 26, 1922, to John and Margaret (Bies) Reyzlik on a farm north of Herman.

He attended school in Herman, graduating from Herman High School in 1940.

On March 10, 1946, he married Rosamond M. Erlewine at the United Methodist Church in Tekamah.

He was a life-long farmer, working and farming his acreage outside of Herman.

Mr. Reyzlik was a Master Mason of Landmark Lodge No. 222 in Herman. In April of 2000, he received the Bronze Jordan Medal for being the oldest Master Mason in his lodge. He also received his 60-year certificate and badge in April of 2004.

People who knew him were always surrounded by his passion for laughter and sense of adventure. He loved to hunt with his sons and grandsons.

He is survived by his wife, Rosamond of Herman; son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Gail Reyzlik of Herman; a grandson, a granddaughter, and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Case and son, Randy Reyzlik.

Memorials are suggested to the Tekamah Volunteer Fire Department.
