Mary Corning Rose, 99 of Cambridge, Massachusetts died Monday, May 29, 1995 at her home.

She was born May 24, 1896 in Blair to Millard Fillmore and Ella Christee Corning. Her family homesteaded in the Midwest and then Canada.

She owned and operated a restaurant prior to her marriage to John W. Rose July 30, 1932. They moved to Cambridge in about 1950.

She was active in the Unitarian Church at Cambridge.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1984; sisters Mildred Higgens and Clara Snyder Pickering and brothers, George M. Frederick, John Corning, William Corning and Robert F. Corning.

She is survived by a sister-in-law, Ellen Corning of Florida; three nephews and their spouses, Robert M. and Karen Corning, Sr. of Ovid; David Corning of Deland, Florida and William and Gail Corning, Jr. of Baden, Ontario, Canada; five nieces and their spouses, Marjorie and Donald Campbell of Lansing, Mary Ann and Stanley Smith of Poplar Ridge, Dorothy and David Fleming of Dryden, Geraldine Parker of Ovid and Carolyn and Kenneth Kastenhuber of Trumansburg and many great nieces and nephews.
