Funeral services for Glen Rosenbaum, who died August 3, 1983, were held Saturday, August 6, at Grace United Methodist Church in Kennard.

The Rev. Dwight Mason officiated. Burial was at the Kennard Cemetery.

Glen, a lifelong resident of Washington County, was born July 6, 1902, at the family farm west of Kennard to John and Ruth McCann Rosenbaum. He attended Colby School until moving to Kennard in 1912 and then attended school in Kennard. He built the first service station in Kennard in 1928 and operated the White Spot Café on Highway 30 from 1936 to 1947. He also worked at various jobs including Tolltaker on the Blair Bridge for several years.

He was active in his community. He served on the Kennard school board 14 years, town board six years and was a Kennard volunteer fireman 40 years, serving as fire chief 20 years. He was president of the Kennard Co Operative Credit Association when it was started in the 1930’s. He lived in Kennard until 1979 when he moved to Blair because of failing eyesight.

He was united in marriage to Nina Ward on December 10, 1924 at Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers and sisters.

Glen is survived by his wife, Nina, at Good Shepherd Home in Blair, three daughters, Mrs. Elvin (Helen) Kruse, Bennington; Mrs. Vern (Mildred) Kruse, Kennard, and Mrs. Donovan (Judy) Rosenbaum, Sidney, Nebraska. Eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and many relatives and friends also survive him.

Pallbearers were his grandsons, Larry Brostad; Bill Japp; Richard Kruse; Ronald Kruse; David Rosenbaum; Jeff Rosenbaum; Jim Rosenbaum and Randy Rose.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
