Mrs. Jos. Rosenbaum Dead-Answered the Final Summons at Home of Son, J. Rosenbaum Saturday-Was Past 85 Years Old

Mrs. Joseph Rosenbaum entered into rest from her earthly labors last Saturday, November 26th, at the home of her son, Jeff C. Rosenbaum, having being 85 years, 7 months and 18 days old. The funeral service was held at the place of her death at 2 o’clock Monday, November 28th, Rev. Carl G. Bader officiating.

Louise Maria Tober was born in Marion, Smith County, Va., April 8th, 1842, of a family of nine children, all of whom, but one sister have gone to the Great Beyond.

She was married to Joseph Rosenbaum in the spring of 1883 and came with her husband to Nebraska to rear their family and seek their fortunes in the promising west. On May 28th, 1902, Me. Rosenbaum passed away from this life and Mrs. Rosenbaum lived in the family home at Kennard for a few years, then came to Blair to live with her son, where Death found her ready and waiting to go.

At an early age she united with the Lutheran Church and her long life was lived in harmony with its teachings and precepts.

Besides an only sister in West Virginia she leaves two stepsons, J. C. Rosenbaum, of this city, and Noah Rosenbaum, of Salem, Oregon. Also two step-daughters, Mrs. E. Spraker, of Kennard ad Mrs. Martha Disch of Oklahoma.

KENNARD WOMAN DIES IN BLAIR

Mrs. Joseph Rosenbaum, a resident of Washington County for 44 years, died early Saturday morning at the home of her step son, J.C. Rosenbaum, in Blair. Her death resulted from an accident a week ago in which she sustained a broken hip. This injury, together with a heart malady that had afflicted her since last summer, caused her rapid decline at death.

Mrs. Rosenbaum was born 85 years ago in Virginia, and was married in that state in 1883 to Joseph Rosenbaum. They moved to Nebraska and located on a farm east of Kennard where they lived until 1894, moving to Kennard at that time to make their permanent home.

Mr. Rosenbaum died in 1902, and since that time Mrs. Rosenbaum has been making her home with members of her family. She has lived some time past in Blair.

She is survived by four step-children, Mrs. Elvira Spraker of Kennard, J. C. Rosenbaum of Blair, Mrs. Martha Disch, Okla., and Noah Rosenbaum, Salem, Ore. Many other relatives also survive in Nebraska and Virginia.

The funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the home of J. C. Rosenbaum with Rev. Bader of the Methodist Church officiating and interment was made in the Blair Cemetery.

Mrs. L. M. Rosenbaum Expires at Home of Son

Mrs. L. M. Rosenbaum of Kennard died at the home of her son, J. C. Rosenbaum in this city last Saturday morning after having been confined to her bed for a week. A short time ago she sustained a broken hip and this injury, together with a heart malady that had afflicted her since last summer, caused her rapid decline and death.

The deceased was born in Virginia in 1842 where she lived with her parents until she was married to Joseph Rosenbaum in 1883. Shortly thereafter they moved to Nebraska and located on a farm east of Kennard where they lived until 1894, moving to Kennard at that time to make their permanent home. Mr. Rosenbaum died in 1902 and since that time Mrs. Rosenbaum has been making her home with members of her family. she had been visiting in Blair for the past few weeks.

She is survived by three children: Mrs. Elvira Spraker of Kennard, J. C. Rosenbaum of this city, and Mrs. Martha Rosenbaum of Salem, Oregon. Many other relatives also survive in Nebraska and Virginia. Funeral services were in this city on Monday at 2:00 o’clock in the afternoon after which the body was laid to rest in the Blair cemetery.
