Services were held for Nina A. Rosenbaum on Tuesday, February 28, 1984 at 2 p.m. Rev. Debra J. Tompsett officiated at the Grace United Methodist Church in Kennard, Nebraska.

Nina A. Rosenbaum was born November 16, 1901 to Lewis and Emily Renshaw Ward in Kennard. She died February 25, 1984 at Blair having reached the age of 82 years, three months and nine days.

Nina was a baptized, lifetime member of Grace United Methodist Church.

She graduated from Kennard High School in 1919, attended Peru State College and taught in Fort Calhoun, Firth, and Elkhorn schools, before returning home to care for her invalid mother.

She married Glen Rosenbaum on December 10, 1924 at Council Bluffs, Iowa. To this union, three daughters were born.

They made their home in Kennard until 1979 when Glen moved to an apartment in Blair. Nina was a resident of the Good Shepherd Home since January, 1978.

Glen and Nina owned and operated the White Spot Café from 1936 to 1947. Nina was employed at Boys Town for ten years, before retiring because of poor health.

She was always active in the community and in her church, as pianist, Sunday School teacher, youth choir director, and in the ladies groups.

She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America; the Kennard High School Alumni Association. She helped to organize the “Top Notch Extension Club” sang in the Washington County Chorus and worked on the “Election Board” for many years.

Nina enjoyed playing cards, belonging to Bridge Club and two Pinochle Clubs before her health failed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen, in August of 1983, her parents, four brothers, one sister and one great-grandchild.

Survivors include her three daughters and their husbands. Elvin and Helen Kruse, Bennington; Vern and Mildred Kruse, Kennard; and Don and Judy Rosenbaum, Sidney, Nebraska; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Alvina Rosenbaum, of Blair, nieces and nephews and many friends.

Pallbearers were Randy Rosenbaum, Jeff Rosenbaum, Jim Rosenbaum, David Rosenbaum, Richard Kruse, Ronald Kruse, Bill Japp, and Larry Brostad.
