Edgar Fairchild, Minden, Died Monday, Dec. 8

Edgar O. Fairchild, a native of Washington County and a longtime resident of the Washington vicinity died at a Hastings, Nebraska, hospital last Monday, December 8. He has been a resident of Minden, Nebraska, many years prior to his death.

He was born at Kennard July 3, 1888, and grew to manhood there. He taught in the Kennard High School a number of years and then moved to Long Pine, Nebraska, where he was in the banking business for ten years.

Later, he was associated with the J. M. McDonald Co. for 15 years. He farmed for a time near Kennard and for five years he was with the U.S. Government. For 20 years he was in the mercantile business in Minden, retiring in 1966.

He was a member of the Minden Masonic Lodge and Minden United Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Velma W. Fairchild, who is a native of Blair, and by a son, Ben O. Fairchild of Omaha. A sister, Mrs. Maynard E. (Georgia) Isaacson, lives in Omaha.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 10, at Minden with Masonic rites. Interment is being made today (Thursday) at Kennard at 1:00 p.m.

Note: Edgar is buried in Blk 3 Lot 12 Space 4 in the Kennard Cemetery.
