Former Arlington resident Robert W. Rosenbaum, 73, of Vashon, Wash., died of cancer at his home on Jan. 31, 1995.

He was born Oct. 27, 1921, in Arlington. He graduated from Arlington High School in 1939. After attending the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for two years, he enlisted in the Air Force in 1942. He flew in the Berlin Airlift. He later graduated from the University of Illinois as a civil engineer.

Rosenbaum retired as a major from the Air Force. He was an engineer at Boeing for 12 years and worked as a consulting engineer on Vashon Island until his health.

Survivors include his wife, Mary L. of Vashon; mother Mary K. of Lincoln; sons and daughters-in-law Robert E. and Carole, and Phillip and Cecelia of Vashon; daughter and son-in-law Richard and Charlaine of Birmingham, Mich.; sister Muriel Wilkins of Lincoln; sister-in-law Jean Thom and her husband LeRoy of Hastings and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father Erwal and brother Dale.
