JoAnn Lutz Dies in Omaha

Funeral services were held Saturday, September 11, in United Methodist Church in North Bend for Mrs. Arlen (JoAnn) Lutz, 54, of Norfolk and formerly of North Bend and Fremont, who died September 8, 1982, in Methodist Hospital in Omaha.

The Rev. Gary Main conducted the services. Burial was in Purple Cane Cemetery, near North Bend.

JoAnn Lutz was born July 18, 1929, in Rogers and lived in North Bend and Fremont before moving to Norfolk in 1978.

She was a graduate of North Bend High School and Midland Lutheran College. She taught for nine years in rural schools in Dodge and Washington counties; five years in the Arlington School System; and two years at Westside School in Omaha. She also taught in the Fremont School District from 1964 to 1978. She was a member of local, state and national educational associations.

She was also a member of United Methodist Church in North Bend. She was a Past Worthy Matron of Ruth Chapter 119, Order of the Eastern Star; and belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter in Pierce.

The former JoAnn Kendrick, she married Arlen Lutz on October 26, 1978, in Lincoln. He survives.
