FRED PETERSEN

Mr. Fred Petersen, who for the past two years has been a sufferer from diabetes, passed away last Tuesday morning at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Kjellin of this city.

Mr. Petersen was born in Denmark in 1863 and when a young man of twenty-five years, came to this county and later moved to Lyons, Nebraska where he was married to Miss Mary Petersen.

A number of years ago, his wife passed away and with his two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Gustason and Mrs. Gifford Pruner, he moved to Blair where he has spent most of his time since. Both daughters later married and he has had no regular place of abode since that time.

He has suffered greatly from diabetes and has submitted to several operations to prolong his life but to no avail.

The funeral services were held this morning, Thursday, at nine o’clock with Rev. Nielsen officiating and the body was taken to Lyons for burial beside his wife.
