Jens L. Petersen, Retired Farmer, Died Thursday

Jens L. Petersen, a resident of the Good Shepherd Home, and a former farmer west of Blair, died Thursday at the Good Shepherd Home. He was 95 years of age.

He was born at Blair June 10, 1879, grew up in this vicinity and engaged in farming. Mrs. Petersen passed away a number of years ago.

For many years the couple lived just west of Blair on the farm which is now the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Paulsen. Following Mrs. Petersen’s death, Mr. Petersen moved to Omaha where his son, Robert, resided.

Several years ago he returned to Blair to make his home at the Good Shepherd Home in northwest Blair.

He is survived by his son, Robert, of 820 Center Street, Omaha. A daughter, Leora, Mrs. Alfred Reeh, also resides in Omaha. There are three grand-children and one great grandchild.

Funeral services were held at the Campbell Mortuary Saturday afternoon. The Rev. Sanford Sorgen conducted the service. Burial was made in the Evergreen Cemetery in Omaha.

Pallbearers were Jens Krogh, Harry Riley, Howard Petersen, Peter Suurvarik and Viggo Berthelsen.
