Services were Thursday, January 9, at First Presbyterian Church in North Platte for Evelyn M. Fairchild, 72 who died January 5, 1992, at her home in North Platte. Rev. James E. Clarke officiated. Burial was in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens.
Evelyn M. Fairchild was born December 30, 1919, in Lincoln to Harry H. and Edna M. Woods Brown. She grew up and attended school in Blair. She also attended the University of Nebraska.
She married E. Howard Fairchild in Blair December 17, 1939. They lived in Omaha before moving to North Platte.
She worked for insurance companies and for the past four years had been employed by Bankers Life and Casualty Insurance.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and its choir. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star.
She is survived by her husband, E. Howard of North Platte; three sons and daughters-in-law, David and Nancy of Arvada, Colorado; James and Cheryl of Raleigh, North Carolina and Roger and Geri of Wayzata, Minnesota; a sister, Dorothy Dinkins of Coos Bay, Oregon and five grandchildren.
A memorial has been established to the church.
Adams and Swanson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
