Raymond “Bud” Schneider, 75

Raymond “Bud” Schneider, 75, of Columbus, died Sunday, April 16, 2000, at the Columbus Community Hospital.

Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2000, at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Columbus. Burial will be in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery.

Raymond “Bud” Schneider was born June 10, 1924, to Herman and Julia (Hamik) Schneider in Stuart. He received his education from Stuart High School.

He served during WWII in the US Army from Oct. 22, 1942, until his discharge on Dec. 2, 1945. He worked as a supervisor at Behlen Mfg. for 33 years. He also worked at Daylight Donuts for 11 years.

On May 8, 1946, he married Bernadine Langan in O’Neill.

He is survived by his wife, Bernadine of Columbus; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Michael R. and Diana Schneider and Timothy J. Schneider, all of Columbus, and Mark L. and Betsy Schneider of Omaha; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Kitty and Joseph Heimann of Blair, Nancy Hayes of Omaha, Joan and Harry Starzek of Columbus and Mary and Tim Wilcox of Columbus; two sisters, Gertrude Krenzer of Stuart and Mary Strong of Neligh; a brother, Louis Schneider of Lincoln; 25 grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ed and Joe Schneider; and a sister, Bertha Parks.

Memorials are suggested to the donor’s choice.

McKown Funeral Home in Columbus and Silver Creek is in charge of arrangements.
