Emma Schoettger

Funeral services were held Friday for Mrs. Emma A. Schoettger, 79, who passed away Tuesday in an Omaha Hospital. Mrs. Schoettger was born February 28, 1881 at Fontanelle. She was baptized March 20, 1881 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at Arlington by Rev. J. Hilgendorf and confirmed March 1st, 1894. She attended school at St. Paul’s parochial. On May 3, 1927 she was married to Herman D. Schoettger at Orlando, Florida. They moved to his farm near Fontanelle. He was county commissioner for several terms and served on the State Legislature in 1907. Mr. Schoettger died April 30, 1942. Mrs. Schoettger moved to Fremont following his death and in July of 1959 moved to the Lutheran Home in Omaha. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran church of Fremont and Ladies Aid and Missionary League. Survivors include a brother, William Franke of Fremont; three sisters , Mirs. Lizzie Nieman of Fremont, Mrs. Leo Kuehn and Mrs. Hilda Riedel, both of Royal Oak, Michigan. Services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont with Rev. Arlin Holtz officiating. Burial was in St. Paul’s Lutheran church cemetery at Arlington.
