Robert Frank Lutz, 70

Robert (Bob) Frank Lutz, 70, died Wednesday, July 14, 1999, after suffering a massive heart attack at his home in Perry, Iowa.

Services were July 17 at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church in Perry, Iowa.

His cremains were sealed in the Columbarium of the church.

Robert Frank Lutz was born Aug. 12, 1928, to Frank (Casey) and Kate Lutz in Blair.

He graduated from Blair High School and entered the U.S. Navy on Aug. 4, 1945, where he served on the United States Ship, “Iowa.”

In 1952, he returned to Blair and resumed his work at the Safeway Food Stores.

On Nov. 30, 1952, he married Merlyn Joyce Hannah at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Blair. He and his family were transferred to Iowa and settled in Perry in 1960.

He was a member of St. Martin’s Episcopal Church in Perry, Iowa, and served in the church’s vestry.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce; two sons and daughters-in-law, Patrick James and Kay Lutz of Panora, Iowa, and Michael and Robin Lutz of Benton, Ark.; five granddaughters and two great-grandsons; one brother, John Lutz of Blair; one sister, Twyla Larsen of Merritt Island, Fla.; and sister-in-law, Donna Husk.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Georgia Larsen of Blair.
