ROLIN CARLBERG, 85

Services for Rolin Carlberg, 85, who died at his home in Fremont Sept. 19, 1996, were Mon., Sept. 23 at the First Baptist Church. Rev. Richard Holmen and Rev. Leland Foreman officiated. Burial was in Memorial Cemetery at Fremont.

Rolin Carlberg was born May 27, 1911 to Carl and Mary Petersen Carlberg at Arlington. He grew up on the farm there, attending the Johnson and Bisbee schools in Washington County. He graduated from the Arlington High School in 1929 and then took a course at the Agriculture College in Lincoln, Neb.

He farmed all his life. He farmed near Arlington before he bought a farm at Ames, Neb. in 1946. He lived there for 43 ½ years, moving into Fremont in 1989.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fremont, where he had served as a trustee and deacon.

He married Gertrude Kubie Oct. 27, 1937 in Fremont.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Milton Carlberg and Walis Carlberg and a son-in-law, Cleo Casady.

He is survived by his wife, Gertrude; two daughters and a son-in-law, Janet and Ron Hofer of St. Clair, Mo.; and Mona Casady of Springfield, Mo.; a brother and sister-in-law, Francis and Eunice Carlberg of Folsom, Calif.; and Mona Carlberg of Canoga Park, Calif.; a sister and brother-in-law, Verda and Duane “Tiny” Knoell of Fremont and nieces and nephews.

Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church or to the Fremont Area Medical Center Hospice Program.

Ludvigsen Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

ROLIN CARLBERG

The funeral for Rolin Carlberg, 85, of Fremont will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church.

Carlberg died Thursday, Sept. 19, 1996, at his home.

He was born May 27, 1911, in Arlington where he grew up on a farm. Carlberg attended the Johnson and Bisbee Schools in Washington County. He graduated from Arlington High School in 1929 and then took a course at the Agriculture College in Lincoln. He married Gertrude Kubie Oct. 27, 1937, in Fremont. He farmed all his life, first near Arlington. In 1946, he bought a farm at Ames and lived there for 43 ½ years, moving into Fremont in 1989.

He served as a director of Riverview School Board in Dodge County for 20 years. He also was a committeeman working with the Agriculture, Stabilization & Conservation Service for 20 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Fremont, where he served as a trustee and deacon.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Janet (Mrs. Ron) Hofer of St. Clair, Mo.; and Mona Casady of Springfield, Mo.; a brother, Francis Carlberg of Folsom, Calif.; a sister, Verda Knoell of Fremont; a sister-in-law and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and a son-in-law.

The Revs. Richard Holmen and Leland Foreman will officiate Monday’s service. Visitation will be 2 – 8 p.m. Sunday at Ludvigsen Mortuary, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Burial will be at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.

Memorials have been established to First Baptist Church and to the Fremont Area Medical Center Hospice Program.
