Jim Juul, 89, of Blair, died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Community in Blair.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery. Visitation will begin Friday at 3 p.m. with family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m.

Jim Juul was born Aug. 11, 1924, on a farm south of Blair to Jens and Christine Juul.

When he was eight, the family moved to the farm north of Blair where he farmed and continued to live for his entire life.

He married the love of his life, Helen Johnson, on Dec. 15, 1945. They just celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary. Anyone who met them knew without a doubt they adored each other and their marriage was a testament of true love.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Juul, of Blair; daughters Jeanne Juul of Omaha and Barbara (Ron) Lau of Omaha; grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Karyn Lomax (Jimmy), Sienna and Dreyson Scott Lau (Katherine), Regan, Sawyer and Mark Lau (Alice) and Sophia; his brother-in-law Glenn Johnson (Faye); and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents who came to America in 1910 from Denmark; his brother, Rudy Juul (Norma); and his sisters, Ella Biffar (John) and Viola Petersen (Donald).
