Mrs. Ralph Fairchild died in Tucson, Arizona Sunday, January 27th. Her body will arrive in Blair Thursday and funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Bendorf Funeral Home. Burial will be in Kennard.

She is survived by her husband, Ralph Fairchild; a son, Howard Fairchild, 3 grandchildren, two brothers and one sister. A complete obituary will appear in the Thursday Enterprise.

Funeral services were held Friday at the First Methodist Church for Mrs. Ralph Fairchild, former Blairite, who died January 27th at Tucson, Arizona, at the age of 72 years.

The Rev. Dale Westadt officiated with interment in Blair (was in Kennard) Cemetery.

Mrs. Fairchild is survived by her husband, Ralph; a step-son, Howard Fairchild of North Platte; three grandsons; three brothers, a sister and three nephews.

Mrs. Fairchild, the former Ella Mabel Fortuna, was born at Octavia, Nebraska, February 12th, 1891. She graduated from David City High School and took her higher education at Kearney State College, Nebraska, University, Iowa State of Ames and Cornell of Ithaca, New York. She taught school at Ulysses and later at Carroll Junior College, Carroll, Illinois.

Mr. and Mrs. Fairchild were married June 14, 1942. In the fall of '1950' they went to teach at Pribiloff Islands, Alaska.

Mrs. Fairchild was active in the Methodist Church, a member of the D.A.R. and for several years was secretary of the Order of Eastern Star.

Pallbearers were: Tom Blanchard, Bill Lucke, Walter Huber, F. H. McVicker, Ansel Toft, and Sam Lingo.

The Bendorf Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
