The funeral for L. R. “Buster” Rosenkilde, 82, of Fremont, formerly of Arlington, will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Arlington Community Church in Arlington.

He died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2006, at Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha.

He was born May 9, 1924, in Arlington to George Henry and Norma (Lockman) Rosenkilde. He was a lifelong resident of Arlington and had just moved to Fremont in May 2006. He was a graduate of Arlington High School.

He served with the U.S. Navy in the Asiatic Pacific Theater during World War II from June 26, 1943, to Dec. 28, 1945. After his discharge, he returned to Arlington and was a partner in the firm of McKinnis & Rosenkilde Masonry Contractors for 35 years.

He married Eleanor “Sis” Hall on June 29, 1947, in Arlington.

He was a member of the Arlington Community Church. He also was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 200 in Fremont; and a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8332 and American Legion Post 71, both in Arlington. He was a former member of 40 & 8 Voiture 1018 of Fremont.

Survivors include: his wife, Sis of Fremont; a daughter Cindy (Mrs. Rodney) Grefe of Arlington; a sister, Kathrine Cook of Arlington; a brother-in-law, Jerry Fagerquist of Fremont; two sisters-in-law, Toby Wilkins of Ennis, Mont. and Ione Hall of Fremont; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The Rev. Burt Williams will officiate Monday’s service. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Sunday, with family receiving friends 2-5 p.m., at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington. Visitation also will be one hour prior to the service Monday at the church.

Memorials have been established to the Arlington American Legion Baseball League or Arlington Volunteer Fire Department.

Former Arlington resident L. R. “Buster” Rosenkilde, 82, of Fremont, died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2006, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.

Funeral services were Monday Nov. 13, at the Arlington Community Church. Interment was in the Arlington Cemetery, with military honors provided by American Legion Post No.71 and VFW Post 8332.

He is survived by his wife, Sis of Fremont; a daughter and son-in-law Cindy and Rodney Grefe of Arlington; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sister, Kathrine Cook of Arlington; brother-in-law, Jerry Fagerquist of Fremont; sisters-in-law, Toby Wilkins of Ennis, Mont. and Ione Hall of Fremont.

Memorials are suggested to Arlington American Legion Baseball League or Arlington Volunteer Fire Department.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington was in charge of arrangements.
