Norman E. Rosenkilde, 105, of Arlington, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005, at the A. J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb.1, at the Arlington Community Church, with the Rev. Shirley Schmidt officiating. Interment will be in the Arlington Cemetery.

Visitation began Monday, and will also be held one hour prior to services at the church.

Norman E. Rosenkilde was born July 16, 1899, in Atkinson to Sylvester and Mary (Hovendick) Lockman. She moved to Arlington at the age of 6, and lived there until moving to A. J. Merrick Manor in 2002.

On March 22, 1919, she married G. H. “Henry” Rosenkilde in Arlington.

Mrs. Rosenkilde worked at the former Klug’s Grocery & Variety Store in Arlington during the 1940’s, 1950’s, and 1960’s. She was a member of the Arlington Community Church and the Arlington Community Church Women; was a member of the VFW Post No. 8332 Auxiliary and a charter member of the American Legion Post No. 71 Auxiliary, both in Arlington; and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 200 Auxiliary in Fremont.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Leo Ray “Buster” and Eleanor “Sis” Rosenkilde of Arlington; daughter, Kathrine M. Cook of Arlington; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, in1963; and a sister, Violet Rosenkilde.

Memorials are suggested to the Arlington Community Church.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington is in charge of arrangements.
