Violet E. Rosenkilde, 99, of Arlington, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2002, at A. J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, at the Arlington Community Church in Arlington, with the Rev. Lynn Martin officiating. Interment will be at the Arlington Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., and visitation will also be held at the church one hour prior to services.

Violet E. Rosenkilde was born March 18, 1902, in Atkinson to Sylvester and Hannah (Hovendick) Lockman. She lived in Arlington from 1904 to 1936, then lived in Pomona, Calif., before returning to Arlington in 1976.

On March 29, 1923, she married Alfred C. Rosenkilde in Arlington.

Mrs. Rosenkilde was a member of the Arlington Community Church and the Arlington Community Church Women.

She is survived by a sister, Norma Rosenkilde, a nephew, Leo “Buster” and his wife Eleanor “Sis” Rosenkilde, and a niece, Kathrine Cook, all of Arlington.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Memorials are suggested to the Arlington Community Church.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington is in charge of arrangements.
