Funeral services were held at Campbell Funeral Home on Saturday, March 20, for Donald F. Rosterman, 57, who died suddenly March 17, 1982 in Blair. Rev. Gordon Patterson conducted the services. Burial was in the Blair Cemetery.

Donald Forest Rosterman was born March 23, 1924, in Lyons, Nebraska, to Andrew and Christina Hansen Rosterman. He later moved with his family to Blair where he attended school, graduating from Blair High School in 1942.

During his high school years, he was active in athletics, excelling in both football and track. His senior year he was the captain of this football team. He was on both the conference football and track teams.

He attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for two years where he was on the dean’s list for his academic achievement. He later attended Northwestern University at Evanston, Illinois.

During World War II he served his country as a member of the Army Intelligence Corps where his special area of work included German intelligence and work as a German interpreter.

He was a draftsman and engineer in civilian life. He was the chief engineer for Auburn Machine Works at Auburn, Nebraska. He was a member of the American Legion.

He is survived by two brothers, Arnold Rosterman, Blair, and Robert Rosterman. Chicago, Illinois; and four sisters, Helen Kearnes, Blair, Ruth Schoeman, Atlanta, Georgia; Rose Halstead, San Leandro, California and Goldie Fleury, Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Pallbearers were Earl Humphrey, Stanley Jensen, Raymond Kearnes, Jerry McCoy, Lloyd Nelson and Clifford Soll.

Clare Cowing was organist. Keith Hightree was vocalist.
