Kathryn C. Petersen

Kathryn C. Petersen, 81, of Fort Calhoun died Jan. 22, 2008, in Plattsmouth.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 28, at Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home in Fort Calhoun. Interment will be in the Fort Calhoun Cemetery. There is no visitation.

Kathryn Clara Petersen was born July 23, 1926, in Council Bluffs.

She was married for more than 40 years to Donald E. Petersen.

She was a member of the Fort Calhoun American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by her stepson, Don Petersen; son, Jim Ollie; daughter, Georgetta Shea, all of Council Bluffs, Iowa; brothers, Charles LaChappell of Council Bluffs and Paul M. LaChappell of San Diego, Calif.; seven grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, in Nov. 1997; and sisters, Rozella McClealand and Marian Grace Bridgeford.

Memorials are suggested to the Fort Calhoun American Legion Auxiliary or the Fort Calhoun Fire and Rescue Department.
