Mrs. R. Fairchild Died Friday

Mrs. Ralph Fairchild died suddenly Friday afternoon in Fremont, the victim of a heart attack. Mr. and Mrs. Fairchild lived in Fremont.

Mrs. Fairchild was a one-time teacher at Kennard but has lived in the Fremont area for a number of years. Mr. Fairchild is a former County Superintendent of Washington County.

Funeral services will be Monday afternoon at 3 P.M. at Salem Lutheran Church in Fremont.

Mrs. R. Fairchild Services Monday Funeral services for Mrs. Ralph Fairchild, of Fremont, were held Monday of this week. Mrs. Fairchild had died suddenly of a heart ailment last Friday.

Mr. Fairchild is a former Blair and Washington County resident and Mrs. Fairchild was known to a number of persons here.

Mrs. Fairchild was one of Fremont’s “First Ladies” having been accorded that honor in 1961. The “First Lady” event was sponsored annually by the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was married to Ralph Fairchild in 1963.

Mrs. Fairchild was born at Marshalltown, Iowa, but had lived in the Fremont area since she was three years old. She was a graduate of Fremont Normal in 1910 and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Midland in 1936. She spent a number of years teaching and was associated with many activities surrounding education.

Interment was made in Ridge Cemetery in Fremont.
