Larry H. Petersen, 69

Larry H. Petersen, 69, of Arlington, died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2007, at the Fremont Area Medical Center.

Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb.6, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home, with a prayer service slated for 7 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

The funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Orum. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Larry Howard Petersen was born Aug. 16, 1937, on a farm in rural Blair to Howard and Anna (Juul) Petersen. He attended Neff School and Rose Hill while helping to run the family farm.

On Nov. 11, 1956, he married Lila Ann Ruwe after a whirlwind courtship on the back of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

The couple continued farming the family farm after his father became blind.

Mr. Petersen was an avid hunter and fisherman, and kept busy between raising livestock, harvesting crops and teaching his grandchildren important life lessons. He was also an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Orum.

He is survived by his wife, Lila Ann; children and their spouses, Lee and Chandra Petersen of Arlington, Lynn and Kathy Petersen of Decatur, and Lanette and Don Morgan of Kennard; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Charlotte and Dallas Jahn of Fremont; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and an infant brother.

Memorials are suggested to Immanuel Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society.

He is survived by his wife, Lila Ann, sister and brother-in-law, Charlotte and Dallas Jahn of Fremont; children, Lee and Chandra Petersen of Arlington, Lynn and Kathy Petersen of Decatur, and Lanette and Don Morgan of Kennard; 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at the Orum Church on Wednesday, February 7. Visitation starting at 10 am with family receiving visitors between 6-8 P.M. on Tuesday, February 6th at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 P.M. Memorials are suggested to Immanuel Lutheran Church of Orum or the National Cancer Society.
