Lars J. Petersen died at his home in this city last Thursday morning of pneumonia, having been sick but four days. The funeral was held at the house at 1 o’clock and at the Danish Lutheran Church at Orum at 2 o’clock. Mr. Petersen was born in Denmark March 10th, 1840, and would have been 83 had he lived until last Saturday. He was married to Meta Petersen and came to America 42 years ago, settling in the Spiker neighborhood. They moved to Blair six years ago, where Mrs. Petersen died on a few months ago. There were nine children born to them five of whom are now living. Mrs. John Weber, of Herman, Mrs. Chas. Rogert, of Herman, J. P. Petersen, of Ft. Calhoun, Mrs. George Petersen, of this city. There are 24 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

#2-15 Mar., 1923 - The Enterprise - Lars Petersen

Mr. Lars Petersen, aged 83 years, died at his home near the depot in this city on last Thursday morning.

Mr. Petersen was a pioneer of this county and had a large acquaintance. His wife passed away only a few weeks ago, mention of which was made in The Enterprise.

The funeral services were held last Sunday at 1 o’clock at the house and at two o’clock at the church at Orum, Rev. Lang of Blair gave the funeral address, and interment was made in the Orum cemetery.
