Aged County Man Dead

Mads Petersen, 90, Buried Tuesday Afternoon In Blair Cemetery

Mads Petersen, native of Denmark, died at his farm home west of Herman last Sunday, more than three months after he celebrated his 90th birthday.

Born in Denmark Sept. 14, 1853, Mr. Petersen had made his home in Washington county for more than 40 years. He and Mrs. Petersen (nee Christina Collins) noted the 62nd anniversary of their wedding on Sept. 30, 1943.

Besides the widow, Mr. Petersen is survived by six sons; Soren and Edgar of Tekamah, Leonard and Albert of Herman, Clarence of Omaha, and Carl of Blair.

Funeral services for the Herman octogenarian were held at the Herman Methodist church Tuesday afternoon with the Rev. A.W. Clark of Arlington officiating. Burial was in the Blair cemetery.

Pallbearers were Lloyed Ackerman, Harold Johnson, Alfred Eriksen, Arthur W. Andersen, Thorvald Hansen and Thorvald Petersen.
