Miss Minnie Petersen

Miss Minnie Petersen, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Peterson, who lives on a farm down near Bennington, died Sunday from the effects of burns received about two weeks ago while lighting a lamp. There was no explosion, only the match dropped to the floor and in some way her skirts caught afire, burning her quite badly. She seemed to improve for a time but was taken suddenly worse and died from the poisons in her system the skin was unable to eliminate. The funeral was held at the house yesterday afternoon and interment made in the German cemetery in Richland township. She was a cousin of Mrs. W. H. Belknap and sisters of this city and Mrs. Belknap and Mr. and Mrs. Hans Lamp went down to attend the funeral. She attended the Keister College here last year and completed the course in the spring. She was 22 years old.
