Kennard Boy Suffocated in Grain Bin

An 11-year-old Kennard boy, Dennis Leon Schram, suffocated Sunday in a grain bin on his father’s farm six miles east of Kennard.

The youth was killed when grain being removed from the bin forced him into a hold in the bottom of the bin. Approximately 500 bushels of corn had to be removed before the youngster could be rescued.

Dennis Leon is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Schram, a brother Michael, and two sisters, Patricia and Mary.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church in Elkhorn.
