Former Blair resident Nelsine McAllister, 93, died Wednesday, June 20, 2001, in Waterloo, Iowa.

She was born Sept. 4, 1907, to Peter and Elmine (Jeffersen) Petersen. In 1914, she and her family moved to Blair. In 1925, she graduated from Blair High School and, in 1929, graduated from the Bishop Clarkson Memorial Nursing School in Omaha.

In 1938, McAllister moved to Columbia, Calif., where she began a nursing career at the Mother Lode Hospital in Columbia, working there until 1940. On Dec. 26, 1938, she married Cecil McAllister.

Mrs. McAllister later moved to a home near Columbia and, in 1972, to Great Falls, Mont. In 1988, she moved to Burney, Calif.

Survivors include Joan McAllister of Columbia, Mont., Eric McAllister and his wife, Marsha, and four great-grandchildren of Park City, Mont.

Preceding her in death were her husband and two great-grandchildren, Liesha and Mariah.

Interment was at the Mountain Shadow Cemetery in Sonora, Calif.
