CHAS. F. McBRIDE SUCCUMBS MONDAY

Charles F. McBride, a native of this county, passed away at the University hospital in Omaha Friday, September 11th at 4:10 a.m. at the age of fifty six years.

Charles was the son of the late John and Hannah McBride and was born on the old homestead six miles south of Blair in the Sunnyside school district. Here he received his early education and spent his childhood days. When grown to manhood he moved to Blair and became a carpenter, which trade he followed until his death.

On September 30, 1920 he was married to Miss Hazel Hardman of David City Nebraska, and to this union six children were born, Mrs. Claude Sellers of Greenfield, Kansas; Maxine, 17 years of age; Beverly, 15 years; Pauline, 12 and two sons, Frederick, 14 years; and Charles Truman, 9 years. These, with the wife, will miss the devotion of a kind husband and father.

Besides the immediate family he leaves one grandchild, also two sisters, Mrs. Rachel McDonald and Mrs. John McDonald and two brothers, Frank and George McBride, the brothers and sisters all of Blair.

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Blair Man, Father of Six Children, Died in Omaha Hospital

Charles F. McBride, 57, native and lifetime resident of Blair and vicinity, died at University hospital in Omaha early Monday after an illness of only a few days. A carpenter by trade, Mr. McBride was the father of six children.

Born in 1882 on a farm seven miles southwest of Blair, he was the son of the late John and Hannah McBride, he came to Blair as a carpenter when a young man.

He was married September 30, 1920 to Miss Hazel Hardman of David City.

Surviving are his wife, Hazel; four daughters, Kathleen (Mrs. Claude Sellers) of Grainfield, Kansas, Maxine, 17, Beverly, 15, Pauline, 12; two sons, Frederick, jr., 14, and Charles Truman, 9; one granddaughter, Sharon Kay Sellers, age six weeks; two sisters, Mrs. Rachel McDonald and Mrs. John McDonald of Blair; and two brothers, George and Frank McBride of Blair.

Funeral services were held yesterday at 4 p.m. at First Methodist church, the Rev. Ralph P. Rasmussen, pastor, officiating. Burial followed in Blair cemetery.
