Albert “Bud” Hansen, age 95 of Blair, died Thursday December 19, 2013 at Good Shepherd Village in Blair. Funeral services will be held at 10:30AM Monday December 23, 2013 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Orum. Burial will be held Monday at 1:00PM at the Blair Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Campbell Aman Funeral Home.

Albert “Bud” Hansen was born August 30, 1918 in rural Orum, Nebraska, to Albert and Flora (Kuhr) Hansen. His early years were spent on the farm near Orum. He served his country in the United States Army with the 636th Tank Destroyer Group. During his service he was stationed in Africa and Europe and received the Purple Heart for injuries received in Italy.

After his honorable discharge, he returned to the Orum area. On February 26, 1947 he was united in marriage to Lila Wolsman at the Lutheran parsonage in Kennard. Two children were born to the marriage, Bruce and Kathy. Bud farmed in both the Kennard and Orum areas until moving to Blair in 1992.

His greatest joy in life was his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bud is survived by son Bruce (Joyce) Hansen of Blair, Kathy (Marty) Gearhart of Kingwood, TX; grandchildren Matthew (Erin) Hansen, Sarah (Matt) Collins, Derek Gearhart, Chris (Heidi) Gearhart, Brad (Heather) Gearhart; 6 great grandchildren; brother Lyle (Roselyn) Hansen and sister Dorothy Cortvriendt.

He was preceded in death by his wife Lila and sister Marjorie Daniels.
