Man dies of injuries after Dec.7 crash

An Iowa man in a pickup truck accident in Washington County on Dec. 7 has died as a result of his injuries.

Washington County Sheriff Capt. Kevin Willis said they had been told Monday that William Anderson, 30, of Grimes, Iowa, died.

Using the Jaws of Life, rescue workers had pulled Anderson from a rollover crash just north of Highway 91 along County Road 9 shortly after midnight Dec. 7.

According to reports, Anderson had been traveling northbound on CR 9 when he lost control of his 2006 Ford pickup and drove into the east-side ditch and rolled several times. Anderson was not wearing a seat belt and was pinned in the vehicle.

A medical helicopter transported him to the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha with life-threatening injuries.

Investigators determined the crash happened about two hours before it was discovered and called in by a passerby. Investigators suspected Anderson might have been involved in a reported hit-and-run accident in the 300 block of North Ninth Street in Arlington around 9:50 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6.

Note: since the actual death date was not given, the news article date was used.
