Services will be held Tuesday, September 25, at 2 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Beemer for Virene Marguerite Albus who died Friday, September 21, 1979, at Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha. Rev. Dennis Frey will officiate at the services. Burial will be in the Beemer Cemetery.

Virene Marguerite Albus was born November 29, 1911, at West Point, Nebraska, to Wenzel and Lily Sila. She attended District #36 School in Cuming County and on February 25, 1931, married Lawrence H. Albus at Grace Lutheran Church in West Point. They had two children.

She lived in rural Cuming County until moving to Beemer in 1945. She was a member of St. John’s Ladies Aid, LWML, Flower Club and was formerly a member of Project Club and St. John’s Social Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

She is survived by her husband, Lawrence; one son, Dale L. Albus of Blair; and one daughter, Marlys M. Redweik of North Judson, Indiana. Five grandchildren, four brothers and four sisters also survive her.
