Frederick C. McBride, 74, of Commerce City, Colo., died May 30, 2000, at St. Joseph Hospital in Denver, Colo. Military graveside services were held June 7 at Elmwood Cemetery in Brighton, Colo.

Frederick C. McBride was born Sept. 24, 1925, in Blair to Charles and Hazel (Hardman) McBride. He grew up in Blair.

McBride served in the military during World War II.

He married Leatha Fitchhorn on Sept. 9, 1947. They resided in Blair and he worked for the Denver Chicago Trucking Co. until being transferred to Denver. He eventually retired from the firm after 32 years.

He is survived by a daughter, Sherry McBride of Commerce City; a son, Frederick Jr. of Overland Park, Kan., three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two sisters, Pauline Matzen of Blair and Beverly Fisher of Iowa Falls, Iowa, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Leatha; his parents; one brother, Charles; and two sisters, Maxine and Kathleen.
