Ruth E. McBroom, 96

Ruth E. McBroom, 96, of Blair, died Monday, July 23, 2001, at Good Shepherd Home in Blair.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 25, in the chapel at Good Shepherd Home. Interment will be at the Swaburg Cemetery in Uehling.

Ruth Evelyn McBroom was born June 3, 1905, in Dodge County, Neb., to Fred and Nellie (Sumner) Frost. She graduated from Uehling High School and attended college for three years. She taught rural school in Dodge, Burt and Washington counties.

On Oct. 14, 1930, she married Wallace C. McBroom in David City. Mrs. McBroom was a member of First United Methodist Church in Blair.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lou and Charles Roost of South Sioux City, daughter, Ann Persson of Blair, three grandsons and their spouses, five great-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren, a sister, Blanche Shepard of Banning, Calif., three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Mary McBroom of Uehling and Eunice Fins of Roseville, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her husband and one sister, Gertrude Soderling.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair is in charge of arrangements.
