Father of Mrs. Roy Walkenhorst Passed Away

Services for John C. Shriner were Tuesday, February 25th at the Bader-Rozanek-Lawson Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Williams officiated.

Mr. Shriner passed away February 20th at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha. He was 70 years old.

Mrs. Eva Shriner preceded her husband in death in October of 1974.

Survivors are sons Ted of Martinez, California, Bob of Sikes, Louisiana, daughters, Mrs. James (Evelyn) Lickliter and Mrs. Ruby Zagar, both of Pacheco, California and Mrs. Roy (Jerri) Walkenhorst of Arlington; one sister, Mrs. Etta Ambrose of Cypress, California; twelve grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Burial was at Ridge Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bernard Paden, John Paden, Dean Rabe, Ray Lubin, Ken Meyer, and Don Fisher.

Honorary Pallbearers were Donald Krause, Teddy Huffer, Walter Minnick, Harold Sathoff, Ted Walkenhorst, Ted Huffer, Ervin Knoell, and Earl Schriner.

John C Schriner, 70, of 1829 N Logan Street, Fremont formerly Fairbury, passed away Thursday February 20, 1975 at the Omaha hospital after a brief illness.

A retired heavy equipment operator, John was born May 19, 1904 in Riverton, the son of John Schriner and Flossie Minnick.

He has lived in Fremont since 1947. He was member of Operating Engineers Local #571 of Omaha.

John was united in marriage to Eva Marie Nolan December 14, 1922 in Fremont. She passed away October 25, 1974 in Fremont.

He is survived by two sons, Theodore A Schriner of Martinez, California, Robert J. Schriner of Sikes, California; three daughters, Mrs. James (Evelyn) Lickliter and Mrs. Ruby Zager both of Pacheco, California, Mrs. Roy (Joeneata) Walkenhorst of Arlington, Nebraska; 12 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; one sister Mrs. Etta Ambrose of Cypress, California.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 25, 1975, 2:00 p.m. at the Baker-Rozanek-Lawson Funeral home with Rev. Robert Williams of the First Baptist Church of Fremont officiating.

Music was furnished by Forest J. Harding, soloist and Mrs. John Katz, organist.

Honorary casket bearers were Donald Krause, Harold Sathoff, Ervin Knoell, Teddy Huffer, Ted Huffer Sr., Ted Waklenhorst, Earl Schriner, and Walter Minnick. Active casket bearers were Bernard and John Paden, Dean Rabe, Ray Lubin, Ken Meyer and Don Fisher.

Interment was in the Ridge Cemetery, Fremont.

A memorial fund has been established for Bishop Clarkson Memorial Hospital, Omaha.
