Steven C. “Pete” Christensen, 51, died Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013, at his home in Lakeland south of Blair.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, at Grace United Methodist Church in Kennard. Interment will be in the Kennard Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Steven C. “Pete” Christensen was born Nov. 21, 1962, in Blair, to Charles D. and Lola A. (Crone) Christensen.

He grew up in Kennard and graduated from Arlington High School in 1981. After graduation, he was employed with Collins Mill in Kennard full time after working there during high school part time.

He later worked for the Ft. Calhoun Stone Company and Brumko in Elkhorn. For the last 26 years, he was employed with Nebraska Machine Products in Omaha.

On April 3, 1993, he married Barbara Adams in Blair. After the couple wed, they made their home south of Blair.

Mr. Christensen was always there for his family and friends. If help was needed, he was there.

He loved woodworking, Louis L’Amour, John Wayne movies, taking his family fishing and fishing trips to Minnesota. He had a countless number of friends and never once met a stranger.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara, of Blair; children: David Beacraft of Blair, John Beacraft of Omaha, Jason Beacraft of Herman, Joseph Christensen of Blair and Jessica (Bryan) Ehret of Blair; grandson Riku Axel Ehret; parents Charles and Lola Christensen of Kennard; sister Cathy (Chad) Gusman of Wahoo; brother Kent (Connie) Christensen of Omaha; sister Patty (Dan) Sanderson of Wahoo; grandmother Viola Crone of Blair; grandfather Charles A. Christensen of Blair; mother-in-law Joan Adams of Herman; brothers-in- law: Nels (Sam) Christensen of Herman, Ed (Crystal) Adams of Blair, David (Ivy) Adams of Daily City, Calif., and Larry Adams of Midland, Texas; and aunts, uncles, several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by grandparents Alton Crone and Mary Christensen; and father-in-law Kenneth Adams.
