Orville J. Petersen, 74

Services were Wednesday, November 21 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Fremont for Orville J. Petersen, 74 of Fremont who died November 18, 1990 at Memorial Hospital of Dodge County. Bishop Jay Johnson officiated. Burial was in the New Lutheran Cemetery in Norfolk.

Orville J. Petersen was born July 11, 1916 in Hadar. He lived in Norfolk most of his life, working at the Henningson Egg Plant there.

He served with the United States Army during World War II. He received a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster.

He moved to Fremont in 1967. He worked for Peter Kiewit and Sons Construction Co. of Omaha, Tom Pedersen Construction of Blair and Robert Berg of Fremont.

He was a former member of the Norfolk Veterans of Foreign Wars Post and of Fremont’s VFW Post No. 854.

He married Betty Anderson December 19, 1969 in Fremont. She survives.

Other survivors include two stepsisters, Mildred Guenther of Seward and Margaret Weich of Norfolk.

Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont was in charge of arrangements.
