Rasmus Petersen

Rasmus Petersen died at his home in this city last Thursday morning at 7 o’clock, following an illness of over two years with dropsy. The funeral was held at the Danish church Monday afternoon. Rev. H. Nelson officiating. Mr. Petersen was born in Denmark November 13th, 1844, so was near his 79th birthday. He was married there to Anna Maria Rasmussen and they came to this country in 1882, settling on a farm near Spiker. A little over a year after her arrival Mrs. Petersen died leaving three children, Nels P. Petersen, now of Wakefield, H. Chris Petersen, of this city and Mrs. L. Martin, now of Pender. Two years later Mr. Petersen married Meta Maria Madsen, whose death occurred May 8th, of this year. Mr. Petersen moved to Blair some twenty years ago and has made this his home ever since. He is survived by one brother, Lars Petersen, of Herman. Nels Christensen and son Wm. and H.P. Sorensen, of Lyons, Neb.
