Services for Walter Petersen, 89 of Blair who died December 30, 1995 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home were Tuesday, January 2 at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Burial was in the Blair Cemetery.

Walter Petersen was born February 20, 1906 at Blair to F.C. Chris and Ane Katinka Hansen Petersen. He farmed in the Blair area his entire life.

He was a long-time patron of the Omaha Livestock Exchange and had received a 50-year pin in 1979. He served on the Gardner School Board.

He married Wilma Tietgen at Logan, Iowa November 30, 1929.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Wilma; three sisters, Anna Thompson, Amanda Kieger and Matilda Hart and two brothers, William Petersen and Jorgen Petersen.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Colleeta Petersen, Blair; a daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Dick Lowe, Oakland, Nebraska; seven grand-children, Kent Petersen, Greg Petersen, Lori Kelley, Tami Thompson, Vicki Nelson, Gordon Lowe and Michael Lowe and 17 great-grandchildren.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
