MRS. JOHN PETERSON

We failed to get to the funeral of Mrs. John Peterson of Coffman who was buried from the Presbyterian church and placed in our Ft. Calhoun, Nebr. cemetery, January 5, 1923. She was born in Sweden April 6, 1839 and came to New York in 1869 where she was married to John Peterson and came with her husband to the Deer creek farm, now in the Coffman district, in 1885, where we have known and visited the family nearly every year since. As a careful, industrious mother up to her last sickness that she has suffered and been confined to bed for several months. She leaves her husband and a sister in Sweden, three sons on farms near the home, and three grandchildren.

Rev. Frank of the Ft. Calhoun Presbyterian church preached the sermon, Mrs. Charles Rathjen of Ft. Calhoun and Miss Daisy Slader of Coffman were the choir. In spite of the storm and cold there was a fair attendance. The pall bearers were five of her near relatives at Coffman and one from Omaha.
